Husky Laws of Nature

The following Husky Laws of Nature have been theorized after many years of painstaking research. If in your research into the husky breed you've come across another law, please complete this form and I'll add it to the list, with appropriate credit.

1. Law of Husky Inertia
   A husky at rest will tend to remain at rest, unless acted upon by some outside force - such as the opening of the treat box, or the sighting of a small animal.
    
2. Law of Husky Motion
   Once a husky is in motion he will remain in motion as long as a human is trying to catch him.
    
3. Law of Husky Random Motion
   A husky will move in a random pattern based on the level of interest and degree of break ability of objects along the path.
    
4. Law of Husky Magnetism
   All clothing attracts husky hair in direct proportion to the darkness of the fabric.
    
5. Law of Husky Thermodynamics
   A husky will remain perfectly comfortable while laying in the summer sun, even though their fur is too hot to touch.
    
6. Law of Husky Stretching
   A husky will stretch to a distance proportional to the length of the nap just taken.
    
7. Law of Husky Sleeping
   All huskies must sleep with people whenever possible, in a position as uncomfortable for the people involved as is possible for the husky.
    
8. Law of Husky Elongation
   A husky can make his body long enough to reach any countertop that has anything remotely interesting on it.
    
9. Law of Husky Acceleration
   A husky will accelerate at a constant rate, until he gets good and ready to stop.
    
10. Law of Dinner Table Attendance
    Huskies must attend all meals when anything good is served.
     
11. Law of Rug Configuration
    No rug may remain in its naturally flat state, for very long while a husky is in the house.
     
12. Law of Resistance
    A husky's resistance varies in inverse proportion to a humans
    desire for him to do something.
     
13. First Law of Energy Conservation
    Huskies know that energy can neither be created nor destroyed and will therefore use as little energy as possible, until you come home from work at which time it will all be released.
     
14. Second Law of Energy Conservation
     Huskies also know that energy can only be stored by large quantities of napping.
     
15. Law of Refrigeration
    If a husky watches a refrigerator long enough, someone will come along and take out something good to eat.
     
16. Law of Random Comfort Seeking
    A husky will will always seek, and usually take over, the most comfortable spot in any given room.
     
17. Law of Bag / Box Inspection
    All bags and boxes in a given room must be inspected by a husky within the earliest possible nanosecond.
     
18. Law of Husky Embarrassment
    A husky's exuberance rises in direct proportion to his embarrassment times the amount of human laughter.
     
19. Law of Liquid Absorption
    A husky will absorb his weight in water, squared, just to show you he can.
     
20. Law of Liquid Retention
    A husky will always have more water to release once a house is entered, even if they feel completely dry to the touch.
     
21. Law of Furniture Replacement
    A huskies desire to chew furniture is directly proportional to the cost of the furniture.
     
22. Law of Husky Landing
    A husky will always land in the softest place possible, usually
    your stomach while on the couch.
     
23. Law of Husky Disinterest
    A huskies interest level will vary in inverse proportion to the amount of effort a human expends in trying to interest him.
     
24. Law of Pill Rejection
    Any pill given to a husky has the potential energy to reach escape velocity.
     
25. Law of Husky Composition
    A husky is composed of Matter + Antimatter + It Doesn't Matter.
     
26. Law of Selective Listening
    A husky can hear a can of dog food being opened a mile away, but he can't hear a simple command given from three feet away.
     
27. Law of Husky Invisibility
    Huskies think that if they can't see you, then you can't see them.
     
28. Law of Space-time Continuum
    Given enough time, a husky will land in just about any space.
     
29. Law of Concentration of Mass
    A huskies mass increases in direct proportion to the comfort of the lap he occupies.
     
30. Law of Diminishing Mass
    A huskies mass decreases in direct proportion to the height of the obstacle to be scaled.
     
31. Law of Husky Probability (Uncertainty Principle)
    It is not possible to predict where a husky actually is, only the probability of where he "might" be or where he's been.
     
32. Law of Husky Obedience
    As yet undiscovered.
     
33. Law of Husky Digging
    A huskies desire to dig in an area is proportional to the square of the cost of the landscaping.
     
34. Law of Husky Force
    The force exerted on a leash by a husky is inversely proportional to the weight of the human holding the leash.
     
35. Law of Husky Attraction
    The size of the frenzy created is proportional to the number of huskies in a confined space at any given time. The reaction can be mitigated, but not stopped, by insertion of human control rods.
     
36. Law of Husky Marking
    The number of times a husky marks drops inversely with the length of the walk but it never reaches zero.
     
37. Law of Husky Love
    The only thing which is truly infinite in the universe.
     
38. Law of Husky Harmony
    All huskies MUST sing if one husky sings.
